Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao Announces ₹48.80 Crore for ‘Nethanna Bheema’ Scheme

Hyderabad: Telangana Handlooms and Textiles Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that the government has allocated ₹48.80 crore this year under the ‘Nethanna Bheema’ scheme to support handloom weavers and allied workers. Speaking at a review meeting, the minister said each weaver will receive ₹18,000, while allied workers will get ₹6,000, disbursed in two phases.

He also directed officials to expedite the loan waiver process for weavers, noting that around 6,780 beneficiaries will receive waivers of up to ₹1 lakh each. Additionally, Rao instructed that the production of 65 lakh Indiramma sarees be completed by November 15 to meet festive season demand.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uplift the handloom sector, ensure financial stability for weavers, and protect the traditional textile industry that provides livelihood to thousands of families across Telangana.
