Mirwaiz Denounces Red Fort Blast; Engineer Rashid Announces Two-Day Jail Hunger Strike
Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, expressing grief over the loss of lives and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. He called the attack a tragic reminder of the need to reject violence in all forms. Meanwhile, Engineer Rashid, the jailed MP from Jammu and Kashmir, announced a two-day hunger strike in Tihar Jail starting November 12 to protest the attack. His party said the strike is a message against bloodshed and a call for peace. Several political and social groups in Jammu and Kashmir also denounced the explosion, terming it a “cowardly act” and urging authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice.
