Cricketer Mithun Manhas has been reportedly appointed as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to a tweet by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. The Minister expressed his delight, noting that Manhas hails from his home district of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir , and shared a photograph with him on social media platform X.
The BCCI has not yet officially confirmed the appointment, but Manhas’ elevation comes after the resignation of former President Roger Binny , leaving the top post vacant. As a former Indian cricketer with extensive domestic experience and leadership credentials, Manhas’ appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the administration of Indian cricket.
Fans and cricket analysts are watching closely to see how his tenure will influence the BCCI’s policies, domestic tournaments, and preparations for international events, marking a significant transition in Indian cricket governance.
