Mizoram DA Hike 2025: State Employees Get 44% Dearness Allowance, Another Raise Due in April

Mizoram government announces DA hike to 44 percent for state employees

Mizoram DA hike 2025 has brought major relief to state government employees as the government approved a 4% increase in dearness allowance, raising it from 40% to 44% of basic pay. The decision was finalised at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, marking the first significant financial relief for employees this year.

According to officials, the Mizoram DA hike 2025 will take effect from November 1. In addition, the Council of Ministers has cleared another 2% increase, which will push the DA to 46% beginning April 1, 2026. This move aims to help government staff cope with rising living costs amid persistent inflation.

However, despite the revision, Mizoram government employees continue to receive a lower DA compared to central government staff, who currently get around 53% of basic pay.

The last DA revision in the state took place in October 2023, when the rate was raised from 36% to 40%.

In another key decision, the Cabinet approved a special incentive allowance for police personnel of the assistant sub-inspector rank and below who are serving on deputation with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The step is intended to boost morale among officers engaged in sensitive investigations and to encourage efficient functioning within the bureau.

Officials said the government continues to monitor financial pressures on employees and will explore further steps to support them in the coming year. The twin DA hikes signal the administration’s commitment to strengthening welfare measures while balancing fiscal responsibility.
