Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a collection of handcrafted Indian gifts to Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit. The offerings showcased India’s heritage, artistry and spiritual thought.

Modi gifted a Russian edition of the Bhagavad Gita. The text carries Lord Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna on duty, the soul and inner freedom. Its message continues to guide readers seeking clarity and calm.

He also offered Assam black tea grown in the fertile Brahmaputra plains. The tea is known for its bold flavour, bright colour and traditional processing. It earned a GI tag in 2007 and remains a symbol of regional pride.

An ornate silver tea set from Murshidabad highlighted Bengal’s craftsmanship. Its detailed engraving celebrated the long cultural connection between India and Russia through the shared love of tea.

Modi added a handcrafted silver horse from Maharashtra. The figure, known for its fine detailing, represents courage and dignity valued in both cultures. Its forward-moving stance mirrors the growing India-Russia partnership.

A marble chess set from Agra, made under the ODOP initiative, showcased elegant stone work. Modi also gifted premium Kashmiri saffron, admired for its rich colour, fragrance and culinary value.

These gifts underlined friendship, respect and shared tradition between the two nations.
