The Motihari liquor death case has triggered strong action from the district administration in Bihar. Four people died after allegedly consuming illegal liquor in the Turkaulia area of East Champaran district. After the incident, authorities suspended the local station house officer and launched a crackdown on those involved in the illegal trade.

In the Motihari liquor death case, Turkaulia police station SHO Umashankar Manjhi was suspended for negligence. Police also arrested village chowkidar Bharat Rai along with several others. Officials confirmed that a total of 12 people have been taken into custody for their suspected role in selling or supplying the illicit liquor.

According to police, some victims fell seriously ill after drinking the liquor. Families rushed them to nearby hospitals, but four people died during treatment. Several others received medical care, and authorities suspect that more people may have consumed the same liquor.

Police teams continue to conduct raids in nearby areas to identify others linked to the illegal liquor network. Officials say strict action will follow against anyone involved in the trade.
