A major fraud surfaced in the Rajgarh Anganwadi recruitment process after several candidates with more than 90% marks failed basic Hindi reading tests. The district administration detected suspicious marksheets from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Delhi and Rajasthan boards during document verification. One candidate with 93% marks could not recall her Class 12 subjects, while another pronounced “Arts” as “आरस.” Many women could not read simple Hindi lines despite showing 80–90% scores on their certificates.
Officials confirmed that over 70 applications were rejected due to forged or doubtful documents. An FIR has already been registered, and the District Education Officer has been asked to conduct a detailed verification. The Women and Child Development Department has now moved eligible candidates on the merit list to the next stage. Candidates who believe their documents are genuine can appeal before the ADM Court for a judicial review.
