MP Budget 2026 Focus: Ladli Behna, Simhastha Get Big Push

The Madhya Pradesh government presented its Budget for the financial year 2025–26 with a strong focus on welfare and development. Finance Minister Jagdish Devda tabled the budget in the Assembly amid opposition protests.

The budget prioritised women welfare, religious infrastructure, farming support, and rural development. The government allocated ₹23,882 crore for the Ladli Behna Yojana. The scheme will continue to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women across the state.

Preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain received major funding. The budget set aside ₹13,851 crore for infrastructure, sanitation, roads, and crowd management linked to the mega religious event.

Farmers also received significant support. The government announced solar pumps for one lakh farmers at a cost of ₹3,000 crore. Farmers will continue to receive ₹12,000 annually under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana.

Rural connectivity emerged as a key priority. The Mukhyamantri Majra-Tola Road Scheme received ₹21,630 crore to connect remote villages with main roads.

Education and nutrition saw new initiatives. Students up to Class 8 will receive milk with mid-day meals. The budget allocated ₹1,800 crore for scholarship schemes.

Congress MLAs disrupted the House during the speech. Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar urged calm, after which proceedings resumed.
