A major road accident occurred on Friday morning at Binaganj bypass in Guna district, where a Kanpur-to-Indore passenger bus overturned, leaving one dead and over 14 passengers injured. The incident took place between 5:30 and 6 AM, when the bus belonging to Radhika Travels suddenly lost control and flipped onto its side.
According to preliminary reports, the driver allegedly dozed off momentarily, causing the bus to veer off course. After overturning, the vehicle reportedly dragged for nearly 30 meters, leading to panic among passengers, most of whom were asleep at the time. The bus suffered severe damage in the mishap.
Local villagers immediately rushed to the spot and began rescue efforts, helping trapped passengers out of the damaged vehicle. Upon receiving information, Binaganj police, Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal, and SP Ankit Soni reached the site to oversee relief operations.
The Collector confirmed that one passenger died, while 14 others sustained injuries. Three severely injured passengers have been referred to Bhopal, and the remaining are undergoing treatment at Guna District Hospital. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
