Madhya Pradesh is heading for a major administrative shift as the state government announces that all administrative units will be frozen after December 31, 2025. The decision, issued through a formal directive, aims to ensure structural stability ahead of the Census 2027. The government has instructed all departments to complete any necessary changes—whether related to blocks, circles, or sub-units—before the deadline.
From January 1, 2026, no new units will be created, no boundaries will be altered, and no restructuring will be permitted until the census is completed. Officials stated that a fixed administrative framework is essential to maintain uniformity and accuracy in upcoming data collection. Once frozen, the entire hierarchy—from districts to blocks—will remain unchanged to avoid technical complications during enumeration.
The move marks a significant governance milestone designed to streamline the massive logistical preparations required for Census 2027.
