Madhya Pradesh’s Pithampur town sank into grief after Agniveer Manish Yadav’s death in a tragic mishap during duty in Arunachal Pradesh. The young soldier, originally from Bihar and living in Pithampur for two decades, was deployed in high-altitude areas, working on technical and energy-related assignments. On 3 December, a major accident during routine field activity left him critically injured, and he succumbed before receiving treatment.
The news shattered his family, who rushed to Bihar for the last rites. Manish had often expressed his dream of conducting his sister’s wedding with great celebration and securing a better future for his family. Friends and neighbours remember him as disciplined, calm and deeply responsible. His selection as an Agniveer fulfilled his childhood dream of serving the nation. Pithampur residents, relatives and officials paid heartfelt tributes, stating that Manish’s courage and sacrifice will remain etched in memory forever.
