Naidu Launches ₹573 Crore Projects Under Swachhandhra Initiative
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated development projects worth ₹573 crore under the Swachhandhra initiative in Chittoor district on Friday. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the programme aims to make Andhra Pradesh clean, green, and free from waste.
He said the government has set a target to remove 11.2 million metric tonnes of legacy waste across the State. This waste has been lying in dumping yards for many years and is harmful to the environment and public health. The Swachhandhra initiative focuses on scientific waste management, recycling, and cleanliness in towns and villages.
Mr. Naidu said cleanliness is important for better living conditions and economic growth. He urged local bodies and people to work together to keep surroundings clean. The Chief Minister added that the projects would improve sanitation, reduce pollution, and create a healthier environment for future generations.
