Naidu to Visit North Andhra to Speed Up ₹2,000-Crore Irrigation Projects
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will soon visit North Andhra to review and fast-track key irrigation projects in the region, Minister for Irrigation K. Ramanaidu said. He added that the Chief Minister has instructed officials to complete all major projects within the next two years, with an estimated outlay exceeding ₹2,000 crore. The projects, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring water security, include modernisation of canals, construction of new reservoirs, and strengthening of existing irrigation networks. Ramanaidu said Naidu’s visit will focus on resolving bottlenecks in land acquisition and project execution. The government’s goal is to ensure equitable water distribution and accelerate regional development, particularly in drought-prone areas of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam districts. The Minister reiterated the State’s commitment to completing the pending works on a mission mode to benefit farmers and promote sustainable growth.
