Suspended Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has sought security from the Punjab government, saying she feels threatened after making serious allegations against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. In a sharp post on X late Friday night, Sidhu directly addressed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and warned that the government would be responsible if any harm came to her.
She accused the AAP government of protecting the liquor and mining mafia and questioned why her complaints had not been acted upon. Sidhu said she had already raised these issues before the Punjab Governor but alleged that the government chose silence over accountability. She also shared a memorandum submitted to the Governor, claiming a major land scam under the current regime.
According to Sidhu, powerful interests have illegally occupied land in protected forest areas near the Shivalik hills and are now trying to legalise these encroachments. She alleged that land parcels ranging from one acre to nearly 10,000 acres were taken at throwaway prices and granted official protection.
Expressing concern over law and order, Sidhu said rising crime and fear are pushing people to consider leaving Punjab. She urged the Governor to convene a special Assembly session to restore public trust.
