The Navodaya Vidyalaya Sanskrit Drama team delivered an impressive performance at a cultural event in Almora. Students competed in Sanskrit drama, dance, debate and other activities during a two-day inter-school Sanskrit competition held at GIC Bageshwar. The event attracted talented students from different schools and created a vibrant cultural atmosphere.
Teams from Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya dominated the senior category. They earned top positions in Sanskrit drama and dance, proving their strong preparation and creative skills. Mohit and Neha Joshi from GIC Song claimed top honours, while Abhinav Kandpal of GIC Garuda excelled in Ashubhashan. Kshak Jahan from GIC Vasucharan secured first place in the debate event.
District Panchayat Vice-President Vishakha Khetwal encouraged the students and highlighted the importance of Sanskrit. She said that Sanskrit connects people to India’s oldest knowledge traditions. Guest speaker Tree Purush Kishan Singh Malra also appreciated the efforts and said that such events help preserve the Sanskrit language.
Organisers selected 64 winners from junior and senior groups. These students will compete in the state-level event in Haridwar on December 3–4. Coordinator Deep Chandra Joshi thanked all participants for their energetic support.
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Sanskrit Drama team remains the highlight of this year’s competition.
