Naxalite Surrender: 3 Lakh Reward Rebel Hands Over AK-47 & More

Naxalite surrender in Bihar with AK-47, AK-56 and INSAS rifles

In a major breakthrough, a Naxalite surrender took place in Bihar on Wednesday. The Naxalite surrender involved Suresh Koda, a Maoist leader who carried a reward of ₹3 lakh on his head. He surrendered before senior police officers and the Special Task Force (STF) in Munger district.

Koda handed over a large cache of weapons. Police seized one AK-47 rifle, one AK-56 rifle, two INSAS rifles and around 500 rounds of ammunition.

Officials said Koda had worked with the Maoist Special Area Committee for over 25 years. Police linked him to nearly 60 criminal cases across Munger, Lakhisarai and Jamui districts. These cases include murder and other serious crimes.

Senior officers called the surrender a big success in the fight against Naxal activities in the region. Authorities will now process him under the state’s surrender and rehabilitation policy.
