The Bihar Election 2025 updates bring several new measures by the Election Commission to ensure smooth polling. The elections will be held in two phases. Voters will get their slips four days before voting day to reach booths on time. No polling station will be relocated this time, ensuring stability for voters.
At a press meet, Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjyal said enforcement agencies will begin election monitoring immediately. The Model Code of Conduct is now active. All posters and banners from public and private buildings will be removed.
Thirty-two constituencies are listed as high-spending areas and will be closely tracked by the Income Tax Department. Around 2,100 booths in six Naxal-affected districts are being reviewed for sensitivity.
The CEO appealed to all citizens to vote actively. Facilities for elderly and differently-abled voters include home voting, ramps, and wheelchairs. There are 90,712 polling stations — 76,801 rural and 13,712 urban. Over 1,000 booths will be run by women, 38 by youth, and 292 by persons with disabilities.
