The Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are set to be announced today at 4 p.m. by the Election Commission. The voting is expected in two phases, likely after the Chhath festival. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will reveal dates for nominations, polling, and results.
Before the model code of conduct comes into effect, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Patna Metro at 11 a.m. The metro currently runs on a 4.3 km stretch between ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhoothnath. This is part of the Patna Metro’s Blue Line, which will include 12 stations between Patna Junction and ISBT. Another line, the Red Line, will connect Danapur Cantt to Khemnichak with 14 stations.
Meanwhile, alliance talks between NDA and the Grand Alliance are still ongoing. Leaders from both groups held separate meetings in Patna on Sunday, but no final seat-sharing deal has been reached yet.
