A non-bailable warrant against JDU MLA Amarendra Kumar Pandey has been issued by a court in Bihar’s Gopalganj district in connection with a land grabbing case. The court ordered the warrant after police named the legislator and his associates in a complaint related to illegal land possession.
The non-bailable warrant against JDU MLA Amarendra Kumar Pandey also includes his brother Satish Pandey and chartered accountant Rahul Tiwari. Police say the accused allegedly supported land mafia groups that used fake documents to take control of land in the area.
Officials said the case began after a farmer filed a complaint claiming his land was illegally occupied. Earlier, police arrested several people linked to the land mafia. Their statements reportedly revealed the involvement of the MLA and others.
After the court issued the warrant, police formed special teams to arrest the accused. Authorities believe the MLA and his associates have gone underground, and raids are taking place at several locations.
The case has created political tension in Bihar as the investigation continues.
