The Ojha and Kaushal Families Bereaved today as senior administrator and respected leader B. S. Ojha passed away at the age of 91. The news left the administrative fraternity, sports community, and thousands of well-wishers deeply saddened. The loss has placed the Ojha and Kaushal Families Bereaved at a moment of great grief, marking the end of an illustrious public life.
B. S. Ojha belonged to the 1959 IAS batch and served Haryana with exceptional dedication. He led the state administration as Chief Secretary and worked closely with several Chief Ministers as Principal Secretary. His contribution extended far beyond governance, as he also held key roles such as President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association, and Director General of the Commonwealth Games.
His family stands at the centre of this loss. He leaves behind his brothers R. P. Ojha and V. N. Ojha, both senior retired officers; his sons Sandeep and Rajiv; and his daughters Professor Dr. Anita Kaushal and Namita Kaushal. His sons-in-law, Sarvesh Kaushal and Sanjeev Kaushal, both former Chief Secretaries, also mourn the loss along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The cremation will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 12 noon at Sector 25 Cremation Ground in Chandigarh. Family, friends, and colleagues are expected to gather to pay their final respects.
