Operation Pimple: Two Terrorists Killed in Kupwara Encounter
Two terrorists were gunned down by the Indian Army during an anti-terror operation named Operation Pimple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The encounter took place in the Keran sector after security forces detected an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC). Following an exchange of heavy gunfire, both militants were neutralized, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. The operation was launched based on intelligence inputs about suspected movement in the area. Search and combing operations are currently underway to ensure no additional infiltrators remain hidden in the dense forest terrain. The Army has intensified vigilance along the LoC to prevent cross-border infiltration attempts ahead of winter. Officials hailed the operation as another successful step in maintaining peace and security in the region, emphasizing the armed forces’ readiness to counter any threat to national sovereignty.
