Over-speeding Main Cause of Road Accidents: NHAI Official

Over-speeding is one of the main reasons for road accidents, said an official of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). R.K. Singh, an NHAI official, spoke about road safety during a review meeting in Chilakaluripet town of Palnadu district. He said that many accidents happen because drivers do not follow speed limits and traffic rules.
R.K. Singh explained that an upgraded highway corridor is being developed in and around Chilakaluripet. This new corridor will help reduce travel time for people and improve traffic flow in the town. It will also help reduce traffic congestion and make travel safer for commuters.
The official stressed the need for public awareness about safe driving. He advised drivers to follow speed limits, wear seat belts, and avoid rash driving. He said that road safety is a shared responsibility of both authorities and road users.
