AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized the BJP, accusing it of circulating a controversial AI video that he described as “not only defamatory, but genocidal.” He said the content of the clip spreads hatred and undermines India’s democratic values.
Owaisi argued that the BJP deliberately used artificial intelligence to create misleading content targeting minorities. According to him, this type of propaganda poses a direct risk to social harmony. He demanded that the BJP take responsibility and withdraw the AI video immediately.
The Hyderabad MP also urged the Election Commission of India and law enforcement agencies to investigate the creators and promoters of the video. “If the authorities fail to act now, it will encourage others to weaponize AI against vulnerable communities,” he warned.
Owaisi repeated that politics must focus on real issues such as jobs, inflation, healthcare, and welfare. He said the ruling party is trying to distract citizens from governance failures by spreading divisive content through an AI video.
He added that the increasing use of AI in politics without regulation raises serious ethical concerns. Experts in technology and law have echoed his concern, pointing out that manipulated AI-generated clips can mislead voters and polarize society.
This controversy has fueled a larger debate about the responsible use of AI in political campaigns. Civil society groups and opposition leaders have joined Owaisi in demanding stricter rules to stop the misuse of technology for propaganda. The AI video row has also sparked discussions on how India should prepare legal safeguards against emerging threats in the digital space.
By calling the video genocidal, Owaisi has intensified the political clash with the BJP, putting pressure on both regulators and the ruling party to respond.
