New satellite images confirm that Pakistan is rebuilding the Nur Khan Airbase, which India struck during Operation Sindoor in May 2025. The base, less than 25 km from Islamabad, remains one of Pakistan’s most vital air facilities, hosting C-130 transport aircraft, IL-78 refuelers, and Saab Erieye surveillance planes.

On May 10, the Indian Air Force hit two special-purpose trucks inside the base, believed to control drones. The strike destroyed both vehicles along with nearby structures. Analysts suggest that BrahMos missiles launched from Su-30 fighters and SCALP missiles fired from Rafales carried out the attack.

Fresh images from September 3 reveal new construction, with walls rising in line with the earlier layout. Geo-intelligence expert Damien Symon observed that Pakistan seems to be using the old foundations that survived the strike.

The Nur Khan strike carried heavy symbolism, landing close to Pakistan’s Army headquarters. It formed part of India’s broader response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians.

Between May 7 and 10, the IAF executed calibrated strikes up to 200 km deep inside Pakistan, targeting terror camps, radar stations, runways, and hangars. The high-pressure offensive eventually pushed Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire.
