The Panjab University Violence Case took a sharp turn after Sector 11 police filed an FIR against unidentified students and outsiders. The incident occurred on November 10 during a protest near Gate No. 1. The Panjab University Violence Case report noted that protesters tried to storm the gate despite prohibitory orders.
Police said the crowd gathered under the Panjab University Bachao Morcha banner. They removed barricades, broke the gate lock, and attempted to enter the campus. Officers tried to stop them. A scuffle followed. Several policemen suffered injuries, including DSP SPS Sondhi and Inspector Rohit Kumar. Doctors at GMSH-16 treated them and later discharged them.
Investigators reviewed CCTV footage, videos and photographs. They began identifying each person involved. Notices and arrests are likely soon. Officials stressed that the group included students, activists and several outsiders. Their actions disturbed the peace and blocked government officials on duty.
Police officers also said the presence of cameras and media personnel encouraged some protesters to act aggressively. The gathering later turned into an unlawful assembly. Authorities reaffirmed that maintaining order on campuses is a priority. They said strict action will follow once the investigation identifies every participant.
