Panneerselvam–Amit Shah Meeting Sparks Speculation of NDA Re-Entry
Panneerselvam (OPS) met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, marking their first interaction since OPS quit the National Democratic Alliance. The meeting, which lasted around 20 minutes, was officially described as a courtesy call and is said to have covered administrative issues along with the broader political situation in Tamil Nadu.
OPS had earlier distanced himself from the alliance over disagreements with its Tamil Nadu leadership. After the meeting, he maintained that the discussion did not involve any immediate plans for political realignment.
Despite this, the interaction has triggered speculation about whether the BJP is keeping the door open for OPS’s possible return to the NDA. Political observers view the development as one that could influence alliance equations ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
