During the Bihar Assembly elections, a tense situation developed in the Kuchaykot constituency of Gopalganj district. The convoys of Pappu Pandey and Vijay Choubey came face to face while campaigning. Supporters of both sides started shouting slogans, creating a Mokama-like atmosphere. However, both Pappu Pandey and Vijay Choubey showed maturity and avoided any confrontation.
Pappu Pandey, a three-time MLA from Kuchaykot and JDU candidate, was leading a roadshow when Jan Suraj Party candidate Vijay Choubey’s convoy arrived. Instead of escalating tensions, the two leaders greeted each other warmly. Pandey bowed respectfully to the senior Choubey, who responded with folded hands. They shook hands and smiled before moving on, setting an example of political decency.
Their calm response stood in contrast to the recent Mokama clash between JDU and Jan Suraj supporters, where violence led to a fatality. In Gopalganj, the peaceful exchange between Pappu Pandey and Vijay Choubey drew praise from both political circles and social media. Despite the heat of elections, their gesture proved that mutual respect can overcome rivalry and preserve harmony in Bihar politics.
