Parliamentary Standing Committee Members Visit Golden Temple during their official tour of Amritsar, offering prayers for Punjab’s peace, prosperity, and continued progress. A delegation of around 20 Rajya Sabha members from different political parties paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib.

The visit was part of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry’s schedule in Punjab. The members bowed before Sri Guru Granth Sahib and offered prayers for communal harmony, economic growth, and the well-being of the people of Punjab.

Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Dangi said the committee aims to study the industrial landscape of Punjab. He added that the objective is to ensure that central government schemes reach the grassroots. These initiatives aim to encourage youth and economically weaker sections to become entrepreneurs. Dangi described the Golden Temple visit as a deeply spiritual experience that provides inner peace and inspiration.

Rajya Sabha MP Hanuman Beniwal highlighted Punjab’s historic role in India’s freedom struggle. He remembered martyrs like Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh and said Punjab symbolizes sacrifice and bravery. The delegation also paid tribute to martyrs at Jallianwala Bagh.

Members expressed concern over the growing drug problem in Punjab. They prayed for a drug-free state and better opportunities for youth and farmers. Some members also visited the Attari border retreat ceremony, calling the Amritsar visit spiritually and nationally significant.
