The Patna anti-encroachment drive began today across 26 major roads in the city to remove illegal constructions and roadside obstructions. The Patna anti-encroachment drive aims to reduce traffic congestion and make roads safer for pedestrians and commuters.
District administration teams started operations early in the morning. Officials deployed multiple squads to cover busy areas from Danapur to Patna City. The drive focuses on roads that often face traffic jams due to illegal shops, carts, and temporary structures.
Key areas under action include Gandhi Maidan, Boring Road, Boring Canal Road, Nehru Path, JP Ganga Path, and Ashok Rajpath. Authorities also targeted locations near markets, hospitals, and railway stations where footpaths remain blocked.
The district magistrate said the administration wants clear roads and free footpaths for the public. He warned that strict action will follow if anyone tries to block the drive or re-encroach cleared areas.
Municipal teams, police personnel, and magistrates are working together to ensure smooth execution. The drive will continue in phases throughout the month.
Officials believe this action will improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and restore order on Patna’s busiest streets.
