Patna bike theft gang busted with 9 bikes and 21 mobiles recovered

Patna bike theft gang busted after police arrested four members of a criminal group that stole motorcycles across the city. The gang worked through a unique partnership between a brother-in-law and his relative, police said.

Police from the Phulwari Sharif area launched a special operation after several complaints about stolen motorcycles. During the raid, Patna bike theft gang busted led to the recovery of nine stolen bikes and 21 mobile phones.

Investigators said the gang’s leader, Mohammad Arshad alias Shadab, already has a long criminal record. Police have registered several cases against him, including murder, robbery, and theft.

Officers revealed that the gang paid thieves around ₹2,000 for each stolen motorcycle. Later, they sold the bikes to buyers for ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 in different areas.

During the investigation, police conducted raids at several locations. Most of the stolen bikes were recovered from the house of the gang leader’s relative.

Police are now searching for another suspect who managed to escape during the raid.
