Patna Mayor Sita Sahu Denies Misconduct Allegations

Patna Mayor Sita Sahu denies allegations and calls the inquiry report biased.

Patna Mayor Sita Sahu denied the allegations raised in the Urban Development and Housing Department’s inquiry report. In her response, sent on Tuesday, she rejected claims that she violated orders or misused her authority. She called the inquiry report, which accused her of negligence and irregularities, unfounded.

Speaking to the media at the Municipal Corporation headquarters, Mayor Sahu said the investigation was biased. She also pointed out that she was not given the opportunity to present her side. The report also accused her of tampering with government records, but she argued that no concrete evidence or documents were provided.

Sahu claimed that Municipal officials conspired against her to undermine her position. She highlighted that coordination issues in meetings were affecting the Municipal Corporation’s work. However, she firmly rejected the false accusations.

The Urban Development and Housing Department issued a notice under Section 67(k) of the Bihar Municipal Act, 2007. It accused her of conspiring to pass Board resolutions numbered 123, 124, and 125, despite a departmental prohibition.
