The victims, Manish Kumar (32) and Manjeet Kumar (24), had stepped out of the venue when four to five men ambushed them. The attackers fired multiple rounds and fled the scene. Family members and guests rushed to help.
Manish died on the spot. Relatives took Manjeet to a nearby hospital, but doctors could not save him.
Police from Gopalpur Police Station reached the area soon after the incident. Officers collected empty cartridges and recorded statements from eyewitnesses. Investigators suspect an old land dispute between relatives triggered the attack.
Authorities have started raids to arrest the accused and are scanning CCTV footage for clues.
