Pawan Kalyan Directs Forest Officials on Conservation and Eco-Tourism

Pawan Kalyan addressing forest officials on conservation and eco-tourism plans

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed the Forest Department to draft special plans aimed at preventing forest exploitation and transforming forests into sustainable economic resources. He emphasized that conserving forests and biodiversity must remain a top priority.

Speaking on Monday, he urged officials to implement the prestigious Great Green Wall project effectively to protect coastal ecosystems. Furthermore, he stressed the need to integrate environmental goals with economic development.

During a meeting with the newly appointed Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, P.V. Chalapathi Rao, retired official A.K. Nayak, and trainee IFS officers, Pawan Kalyan issued several key instructions. He felicitated A.K. Nayak on his retirement and extended best wishes to Chalapathi Rao on assuming charge.

Moreover, the Deputy CM expressed concern over the shortage of native plant species in nurseries. He suggested assigning their cultivation to tribal communities in forest villages, which would, in turn, provide them with sustainable livelihoods. He also directed the department to take strict action against encroachments, illegal mining, and deliberate forest fires.

In addition, he urged officials to strengthen eco-tourism to generate revenue. He reiterated the importance of successfully executing the Great Green Wall for the protection of coastal and human habitats. Finally, he announced plans to frequently visit forest regions, hold reviews with field officers, and address their challenges directly.
