The Central Government has sanctioned ₹2,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the state will use the funds to rebuild damaged rural roads and improve infrastructure.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who handles the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development portfolios, said roads in poor condition will get top priority. He instructed officials and engineers to maintain quality and transparency at every stage. “We will not compromise on quality,” he said, stressing accountability for every rupee spent.
Pawan Kalyan added that the funds will strengthen the Panchayati Raj network and benefit villages across the state. He announced ₹35 crore for road improvements in Puttaparthi as part of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba centenary celebrations.
He criticized the previous government for ignoring rural infrastructure. Pawan Kalyan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the financial support and assured that the coalition government will continue to focus on public welfare and transparency.
