Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Telugu star Ram Charan, his wife Upasana, and Archery Premier League (APL) Chairman Anil Kamineni for promoting archery in India. Modi highlighted their efforts on his X timeline, noting the benefits for young athletes nationwide.
Ram Charan had earlier tweeted about meeting the Prime Minister and presenting the vision behind the APL, which completed its first successful season. He said the initiative aims to preserve India’s archery legacy and promote the sport globally.
The meeting in New Delhi also included APL Chairman Anil Kamineni and Archery Association of India President Virender Sachdeva. They presented a symbolic bow to the Prime Minister to mark the league’s achievements. Upasana Kamineni Konidela gifted a Balaji idol and traditional puja kit on behalf of Ram Charan’s parents, Chiranjeevi and Surekha.
The Archery Premier League, led by Anil Kamineni, aims to provide Indian archers with world-class training, competitive platforms, and international exposure. Ram Charan emphasized that the APL will help talented athletes reach global stages and revive archery as part of India’s cultural heritage.
