Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Jawaharlal Nehru’s “mistake” on Kashmir had plunged the nation into decades of turmoil and suffering. Speaking at Ekta Nagar, Modi stated that the decision to grant Jammu and Kashmir a separate constitution and emblem under Article 370 led to long-lasting instability and alienation in the region. He emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 by his government marked a historic correction of that error, restoring full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.
