Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). The day is observed every year on October 31, marking Patel’s birth anniversary and celebrating his role in unifying India after independence.
Modi offered floral tributes and administered the national unity pledge, calling Patel the architect of a united India. He said Patel’s vision continues to guide the nation toward strength and integrity.
The event featured a Unity Run, cultural performances, and a parade by security forces symbolizing the spirit of “One Nation, One Identity.” Since 2014, the day has been celebrated across India to promote harmony and national integration, with programs highlighting Sardar Patel’s contribution to building a strong and united country.
