PM Modi Inspects Progress at Surat Bullet Train Station

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited Surat to review the progress of the under-construction bullet train station on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR). The corridor, spanning approximately 508 km, covers 352 km in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and 156 km in Maharashtra, and is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two major cities.
During his visit, PM Modi assessed construction activities, safety measures, and the overall readiness of the station infrastructure. Officials briefed him on the progress of civil works, signaling systems, and passenger amenities.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, India’s first high-speed rail project, is designed to boost connectivity, economic activity, and regional development along its route. The Surat station is expected to become a key hub, enhancing convenience for commuters and travelers. The project also exemplifies India’s push toward modern, technologically advanced transportation infrastructure.
