PM Modi to Felicitate Indian Women’s World Cup Squad on November 5

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate the Indian women’s cricket team on November 5 following their remarkable performance in the Women’s World Cup. The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, earned widespread acclaim for their skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, further elevating the profile of women’s cricket in India.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly unlikely to organise a traditional victory parade for Harmanpreet’s Hurricanes, as is often done for men’s teams. Despite this, the felicitation by the Prime Minister is expected to be a high-profile event, acknowledging the squad’s contribution to Indian sport and inspiring young athletes across the country.

Officials highlighted that the felicitation will include individual recognition for outstanding performances, reinforcing India’s commitment to supporting women’s cricket and celebrating the players’ achievements on a national stage.
