The total cost of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits from 2021 to 2025 was reported to be around ₹462 crore. This includes travel, accommodation, security, and other related expenses.
The United States accounted for 16% of the total expenditure, making it the costliest foreign destination for the PM’s visits during this period. Japan and France followed closely, each making up around 9% of the total cost. Other countries visited also contributed to the remaining expenses.
Officials said that these visits are part of India’s diplomatic and economic engagements, including trade talks, strategic partnerships, and international conferences. While the visits are expensive, they are intended to strengthen India’s relations globally and promote trade, investment, and cooperation in various sectors.
The government has released this data to provide transparency on official foreign visit expenses.
