PMK MLA Arul’s Car Attacked in Salem Amid Clash Between Party Factions
Tensions flared within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Tuesday when the car of party MLA Arul was attacked in Salem during a violent clash between supporters of Anbumani Ramadoss and S. Ramadoss.
According to Arul, his vehicle was pelted with stones, wooden logs, and iron rods during the confrontation. “If I had stepped out of the car, they would have killed me,” the MLA alleged, describing the incident as a deliberate attempt on his life.
Police personnel were deployed to control the situation and prevent further escalation. Initial investigations suggest the clash stemmed from internal disagreements between factions loyal to the two leaders over recent party decisions. Authorities have begun identifying those involved in the attack, and additional security has been provided to the MLA as the inquiry continues into the intra-party violence.
