Political Row Over BC Reservations Intensifies in Telangana

Political debate heats up in Telangana over 42% BC reservations in local polls as Congress, BJP, and BRS trade charges.

The political debate over the implementation of 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in Telangana’s local body elections has intensified. The ruling Congress accused the BJP and BRS of blocking the BC reservation process, while the opposition alleged that Congress lacked sincerity in implementing it.

Amid the ongoing political blame game, the Telangana BC Commission organized a special prayer event at Bapu Ghat in Langar Houz on Friday. The prayers were held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with devotional bhajans dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao (VH), Jajula Srinivas Goud, and several commission members participated in the program. They prayed for harmony and justice in the implementation of BC reservations.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring the 42% quota for BCs in upcoming local elections. Leaders emphasized that fair political representation is essential for empowering backward communities and strengthening democratic participation across Telangana.
