Electricity department officials in Eluru set up 24/7 control rooms as Bay depression triggers heavy rains and power outage alerts

Eluru: Following the low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal, the electricity department in Andhra Pradesh has gone on high alert. Eluru district electricity superintendent engineer P. He emphasized that continuous monitoring is required to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the heavy rains.

As per the orders of Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi and the CMD of Eastern Power Distribution Company, control rooms have been set up for round-the-clock monitoring. The Eluru district electricity office can be reached at 9440902926, while the Jangareddygudem division office will function in three shifts with the contact number 9491030712. These measures aim to ensure quick response in case of outages.

Officials also advised Ganesh pandal organizers to take necessary precautions to avoid accidents during the festival. Heavy rains and floods can increase the risk of electrical mishaps, so safety steps must be strictly followed.

In case of power interruptions or related problems, people have been asked to contact the nearest electricity section office, dial the toll-free helpline 1912, or call the control room numbers provided. The department assured that any registered complaint will be resolved immediately.
