As part of intensified efforts to curb ganja and narcotics smuggling, Prakasam district police conducted surprise checks at Ongole Railway Station on Monday. The operation covered express trains, railway premises, and parcel centres under the supervision of Women Police Station CI Sudhakar. Special Party, Eagle Team, and sniffer dog Jackie participated in the inspection.
During checks on the Ernakulam Junction Express (Train No. 18189) between Ongole and Kavali, police seized 14 kilograms of ganja. They were later handed over to the GRP police for further investigation.
