Probe Ordered into ₹300-Crore Land Deal Linked to Ajit Pawar’s Son; Two Officials Suspended

The Maharashtra government has ordered a probe into a ₹300-crore land deal allegedly linked to Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The land, located in a prime area of Pune, was reportedly sold for ₹300 crore despite its market value being estimated between ₹1,600 and ₹1,800 crore. Following initial findings of irregularities in the valuation and sale process, two senior revenue officials have been suspended pending investigation. The opposition has demanded a comprehensive inquiry, alleging misuse of power and massive financial loss to the state exchequer. Government sources said the inquiry committee will examine documents, approvals, and the role of officials involved in the transaction. Ajit Pawar has denied any wrongdoing, saying the investigation will bring out the truth. The controversy has sparked political tensions in Maharashtra, with calls for greater transparency in government land dealings.
