Pune Land Deal Probe Indicts Officials; Parth Pawar Not Named

Officials reviewing documents related to the Pune land deal probe.

The Pune land deal probe has entered a crucial stage. A committee under Joint Inspector General of Registration (IGR) Rajendra Muthe reviewed the Rs 300-crore transaction in Pune’s Mundhwa area and found major irregularities. The panel examined the sale of 40 acres of government land to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm where Parth Pawar is listed as a partner.

The Pune land deal probe focused on documents, approvals and statements from all sides. The committee flagged three individuals named in the police FIR. These include suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Taru. Officials said these individuals handled key steps in the registration process and ignored clear rules.

The panel did not mention Parth Pawar in the report. His name does not appear on any document linked to the sale. Officials said they cannot hold him responsible without proof of direct involvement. This clarification reduces earlier political tension around the case.

The committee found that the land belongs to the government. Despite this, the plot was sold to the private firm. The firm also received an exemption of nearly Rs 21 crore in stamp duty. These decisions raised serious questions inside the registration department.

Officials said the deal bypassed verification procedures. They also noted that several checks were either ignored or rushed. The divisional commissioner will now review the report and decide the next steps.

The case has drawn interest across Maharashtra. Many leaders are calling for stronger land-registration controls. Some experts want digital tracking to prevent similar cases. The government may introduce new checks after the commissioner’s final decision.
