Punjab Government Releases ₹213 Crore

Punjab Government releases ₹213 crore for Rangla Punjab Scheme as part of its ongoing development initiatives. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema confirmed the release during a press conference at Punjab Bhawan. Punjab Government releases ₹213 crore to Panchayats based on proposals vetted by committees of MLAs and officials, ensuring proper utilization of the funds.

The ‘Rangla Punjab Scheme,’ announced in this year’s budget under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has a total allocation of ₹585 crore. Each Assembly constituency will receive ₹5 crore for development works. Cheema highlighted that ₹334 crore had already been released earlier to Panchayats, Zila Parishads, and Panchayat Samitis, underlining the government’s commitment to consistent progress.

The Finance Minister also emphasized ongoing infrastructure projects across the state. The plan includes building over 3,000 stadiums for youth and constructing 19,000 kilometers of new roads. Cheema stressed that unlike previous governments, the AAP administration is delivering on promises steadily throughout its tenure, not reserving initiatives for the last year.

With the first installment now disbursed, local bodies can accelerate development activities, ranging from road repairs to sports and community facilities. The government aims to make visible improvements in every corner of Punjab, fulfilling its vision of a ‘Rangla Punjab’ for all citizens.
