The Polavaram project BJP focus grew sharper on Monday as party leaders strongly criticised the previous YSRCP government for neglecting the state’s lifeline. BJP State President PVN Madhav accused YSRCP of leaving the project in a pathetic condition, with work moving at a snail’s pace during its rule.
Madhav said the coalition government has now prioritised the project and highlighted that the Centre has already released Rs. 15,000 crore. He promised that the Polavaram project BJP focus will ensure completion within the next two years, delivering water to Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra. He also unveiled “Mana Party Mana Jenda” (Our Party Our Flag), an action plan to strengthen BJP from the village level, urging leaders to resolve local issues and spread awareness about government schemes.
Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders including MP Daggubati Purandeswari praised workers for fighting corruption and said surveys show strong trust in PM Modi’s leadership. She credited the party’s rise to the dedication of its cadre. MLC Somu Veerraju and Anaparthi Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy also stressed the Centre’s support for Andhra’s development, while criticising Congress and YSRCP leadership.
The BJP leaders underlined that the state is progressing with a “double-engine government,” citing major works on highways, flyovers, and rail projects.
