Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Election Commission (EC) of aiding those who are undermining democracy by disenfranchising voters from Dalit, minority, and OBC communities. In a media interaction, Gandhi claimed that efforts to delete millions of votes have been particularly targeted at these communities.
He cited the Karnataka Assembly elections as an example , alleging that there was a deliberate attempt to remove votes on a large scale. Gandhi further criticized the EC for failing to act against this, suggesting that it was enabling the disenfranchisement of Congress supporters in various parts of the country.
His comments reflect growing concerns within the opposition about the integrity of the electoral process and the potential manipulation of voter lists to affect outcomes. The issue has sparked fresh political debate regarding fairness and transparency in India’s elections.
