Jaipur hosted the 11th edition of the ML Mehta Memorial Oration, organised jointly by the ML Mehta Foundation and HCMRIPA, in honour of former Rajasthan Chief Secretary ML Mehta.

Delivering the presidential address, Rajasthan’s Chief Secretary V Srinivas praised Mehta as an innovator, humanitarian, and one of the most impactful administrators in the state’s history. Srinivas said he drew inspiration from Mehta’s approach to governance, especially the way he simplified the government–citizen interface.

Sharing his administrative insights, Srinivas noted that citizens often face complex processes while dealing with the government, and simplifying these interactions has been central to his decade-long reform journey. He reiterated that “maximum governance, minimum government” aims to create digitally empowered citizens and transformed institutions—principles he learned from Mehta’s style.

Srinivas also highlighted the growing role of digital platforms and artificial intelligence in driving radical reforms. He encouraged young scholars to explore technology-driven solutions that can strengthen governance.

The event, themed around the administrative legacy of Padmashree ML Mehta, brought together leaders and experts committed to improving public service and societal impact.
